Foreword

At the heart of all the extraordinary developments that, from the social, economic and technological points of view, have characterized this exceptional period of change between two millennia, above all there has been human capital. In the performance of businesses, of public administration, and services it is people that make the difference. The availability of brilliantly qualified and strongly motivated managers constitutes an important condition for competitive success. It is therefore with pride that I present the 12th edition of the “Master Program in Business Engineering”, a programme of high-level training dedicated to meeting the needs of businesses, to developing modern managerial capacity, to offering participants the opportunity of professional growth.
Students will acquire advanced competence in the organizational and management field and will be able to plan, implement and manage changes in structures and strategies, working in a team and, when appropriate, taking on leadership roles.
The Program has come into existence through the experience of the Business School of the Faculty of Engineering at “Tor Vergata” and enjoys the contributions and experience
of more than thirty teaching staff, who have already also been engaged in the Research Doctorate program, and of a grouping of businesses and organizations that are highly representative of the various organizational contexts. All subjects are dealt with using state-of-the-art theory references and vision of business cases of particular interest, thus contributing to the development of motivation and enthusiasm for best practices in the company field. Enthusiasm, combined with solid preparation, is a fundamental requirement when facing problems of organization and management in a company environment that is often characterized by phenomena of turbulence that, in both the public and private sectors, render generalized solutions and recipes impossible to consider.
To all this is added the academic atmosphere of the campus of the University of Rome Tor Vergata, with its stimulating environment, rich in national and international connections. Participation calls for commitment and sacrifice; in its turn the programme guarantees a creative and professionally interesting experience, up to all expectations.
